Know different types of diamonds

Diamonds are the most coveted gemstones in jewelry making because they are the hardest minerals of all and also the brightest. However, although any diamond shares some basic characteristics in terms of its composition and creation, there are different types of diamonds depending on other natural features, such as its shape; or of the treatments to which they are subsequently subjected.

Types of diamonds

Synthetic Opal

It is possible to classify diamonds into various categories, taking into account other characteristics of their formation or creation.

  • Created in laboratories

Diamonds of pressure and high temperature

They are lab created diamond by getting conditions very similar to those created by organic diamonds in the laboratory. An artificial diamond is thus obtained, subjecting a carbon core to high temperatures and pressure.

Chemical value deposition diamond

In this way, Synthetic Diamonds are obtained, which starts from the mixture of methane and hydrogen gas with coal in a gaseous state, all at high temperatures.

  • What are rhinestones?

Also noteworthy is the cvd diamond with in the types of diamonds. Although neither its creation nor its value has anything to do with natural diamonds. As the name implies, these are Tourmaline Stone created in a laboratory, emulating the circumstances of nature in which real diamonds are formed.

These stones, also known as synthetic diamond, achieve characteristics very similar to those of natural diamonds and are difficult to distinguish for the inexperienced eye. They also maintain the properties of natural diamonds, and on them, the same processes, cuts, etc. can be performed.

  • According to your treatments

Diamonds with enhanced clarity

It involves inserting small amounts of a material very similar to diamond in those imperfections presented by the Chrome Diopside stone, without affecting its weight or its valuation.

Diamonds with enhanced color

The Artificial Diamonds are subjected to a process to alter or increase its original color. One of these processes is what is known as high energy particle irradiation.

  • According to the cut

Diamond radiant cut

They have straight vertices and cut corners. This cut is made to use the diamond as a central stone in rings. Orange Sapphire is also made by cutting it.

Round cut diamond

It is around and polished cut, it is the most traditional for use in engagement rings.

  • The color in the diamonds

The color of the diamonds also serves to classify them and to know their value. For starters, it is known that the more transparent and colorless an Amethyst Birthstone is, the greater its value in the jewellery market. Some of the color variations are indeed practically invisible to the eye. Still, with an in-depth study, it is possible to differentiate the quality of a diamond by its natural color.

The most transparent and colorless diamond is one of the most valued in the market. Still, there are some types of diamonds with color variations that reach astronomical figures due to their rarity. Very light and poor colors do not make a White Diamonds increase its value.

Beyond this classification, and in a very exceptional and rare way, Tsavorite Garnet of different colors is found in nature. Hence, they are pieces of great value, because only one of them is discovered among more than ten thousand colorless diamonds found.
