The social game is taking a step forwardPosted by Mords1944 on March 28th, 2020 Many of the social gaming technologies have lagged behind other games that are based on social media. Social games are at its base, games that are played through social networks like Facebook and MySpace. The earliest versions of these games were primarily text-based and didn't offer much to the player in the graphics department. Those graphics-based games have platforms that are more similar to the original Nintendo games of twenty years ago. But it is an industry that is growing in popularity so much that the demand for them requires change and advancement. New game developers are looking for ways to integrate newer technologies into the social media infrastructure to offer users a more graphical-based interface. We are starting to see this in action now with new social games. Social games are a relatively new concept since social networks have only existed for a few years in relation to networks and games. The past five years have seen an increase in social media and the look of the game was not far behind. The early games were simple with little or no graphics but generally integrated the social aspect in a vital way. There were tasks to complete that was done through the help of online friends and the accumulation of points through documents. Nowadays, games are becoming more basic and offer social players the possibility to interact in a more user-friendly way. Many are also good as stand-alone games without the need to interact with friends on the social network to complete tasks within the game. While text games are still popular, these new games are becoming increasingly popular due to ease of use. Although they are easier to use, the games are in no way comparable to games that can be found online, such as MMORPG or even for other non-computer based platforms. The graphics are lacking and simplistic in nature, which may be a detour for those gamers who are used to action-packed graphics games. However, one trend we do see is that social gaming takes people into the world of video games that they otherwise would not have been interested in. In that sense, they are an entry genre. Many of the Rede Social companies are now working to create social media games that are more graphically based and offer more to the social player than the games that are offered now. These games should be more competitive with online MMORPGs and non-computer based platform games, both in quality and playability. These games also have the added benefit of allowing more than one social network to play together in real-time just like Internet-based games. The hope is to make social gaming the niche of the future and to compete effectively with games on other platforms. Social media may be relatively new, but it has exploded in a way that has created new demand for any app used within these sites. Social gaming was one of the earliest types of apps and is growing and developing in ways you never imagined just five years ago. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
