If you have been to Las Vegas Strip you know that getting around can be an expensive and frustrating process, however knowing a few things can save you a lot of time and a lot of money. Here are a few tips to take into considering when trying to get from Point A to Point B.

  1. Traveling up and down the strip does not have to be difficult. Plan out your day so you can board The Duece or The Ace earlier in the day to arrive on the end of the strip you want to spend your time at. A 3-Day pass to ride the bus-line is currently only . If you are going to ride the bus more then once, the cost of the ticket will pay for itself. Riding The Duece at night can be an entirely different story. Expect the bus to be entirely full and overflowing with people, a 4-Mile Trip from one end of the strip to the other could take as long as 90 minutes! If this is the case, we recommend grabbing a cab for approximately + Tip.
  2. The monorail system is the only way to get from Point A to Point B while avoiding the traffic, however  most support for this system is on the east side of Las Vegas Blvd. Rail systems on the West Side can be easily avoided and the time waiting for the tram made up by simply walking.
  3. Cabs are readily available in front of all of the major hotels. If you want to save some money, don't make this your primary form of transportation, however when all means of public transport are packed, this may be your best bet.
  4. This brings us to what you will be doing most to get around the Las Vegas Strip, walking. Bear in mind, if you want to get from one end of the strip (Mandalay Bay) to the other end of the strip (Sahara), your going to want to grab an alternate mode of transportation. But if your plan is to travel from one major casino to the next, in many cases, you won't even have to leave the air conditioned interiors of the buildings. Most major casinos in Last Vegas and connect by walk ways, many areas complete with mechanical escalator walkways to give your tired legs a break.
  5. If you are going to be traveling away from the strip, it may be best to add a rental car into your flight and hotel room package. Doing this can save you up to 66% on overall rental costs (you could expect to pay as little as per day rather then 0 per day if you try to get a rental car while you are in city).

In short, when your traveling in Las Vegas, travel smart. Being informed can save you hundreds of dollars and countless hours. Know when to take each mode of transportation and you will have more time for relaxing by the pool, playing your favorite slot machine, or taking up the sights from the Stratosphere.
