Parks and recreation departments in the Shoals

Parks and recreation departments in the Shoals are gaining from fewer people in a great deal of facilities and playgrounds because Gov. Kay Ivey's stay home order continues.

For one of the most part, public parks tend to be open, but residents are discouraged from gathering inside large groups.

Indoor recreational facilities and playgrounds have been closed. Some outdoor facilities normally aren't scheduled to open until the following month.
On Monday, Muscle Shoals Park plus Recreation Department employees was painting spray mounts and figures for the splash pad at Gattman Park, Director Rusty Wheeles stated.

"They painted the actual asphalt round the playground, " Wheeles claimed. "We laid some new mulch in the playground, and we sanitized every one of the playground equipment.

"Even while its closed, we're still cleaning it stick to week, " Wheeles explained.

Wheeles said he really wants to get the splash pad and problems at Cypress Lakes Tennis and Tennis complex in working order so it may be used when the work from home order is lifted.

No games are now being played, but the department continues not to lose the ball fields at Gattman Park and the two sportsplexes on Webster Block.

Maintenance also is moving forward in Florence, said Parks along with Recreation Department Director Tina Kitchen areas.

Maintenance crews have worked on the River Heritage Meadow, and striped the protecting lots at Martin Park and Royal Avenue Excitement Center.
"We're trying to do some landscaping work at the Club and the sportsplex in addition to Deibert Park, " your woman said.

For inside amenities, employees are striping older wax from floors plus adding new wax, something they normally do around a holiday.

"We painted the old senior direct attention to Fairgrounds Road, painted the inside and waxed the surfaces, " Kitchens said.

They cleaned all of the tables and chairs at the recreation center.

"We have a bit more help right now, " Living rooms said. "Inside people may also help outside where needed. "
Similar is happening in Tuscumbia, where park and excitement employees are painting at the multipurpose center, Parks in addition to Recreation Department Director Joel Kendrick stated.

"It's a good time to secure a little maintenance done while there's not many people around, " Kendrick mentioned.

Spring Park is open up, but the playground is closed. Construction on a new restroom building at this park is underway, Kendrick explained.

"It's coming along great, " he said. "Mainly, we're wanting to keep the grass minimize. It's really growing along with we're short handed now. ". indoor playground equipment 201911ld
