Merger vendors in QuickBooks
Many QuickBooks users doubt whether it is possible to merge vendors. Well, it is very possible for vendors to merge into QuickBooks. The process of merging vendors allows users to consolidate all transactions. The best thing is that users do not need to register transactions one after the other. The merger process basically deletes one vendor and, at the same time, reassigns the entire relevant data to the other vendor. After the completion of these steps, it should be noted that things cannot be reversed. This means that everything is permanent, from deleting one vendor to transferring data to another.
Points to remember before beginning with the merger process
Okay, before you start with the merging process, it is better to update yourself with some points that you should definitely keep in mind. To make it easy for you, we've put some of them below:
The first thing you cannot miss is a secure backup of a QuickBooks company file. Avoiding this can cause massive data loss.
Always make sure that you are in single-user mode, and if by any means you are using multi-user mode, do not think to switch to single-user mode only.
The next point that needs your attention is the discontinuation of the multi-currency facility.
The user is also required to ensure that he is not paying through online banking vendors, tax authority sellers, and direct deposit sellers.
Another thing to be considered is that once performed the merger process cannot be reversed. Thus, double-check the vendors before merging and make sure that you are merging the accounts that actually need to be merged.
Finally, the only way to undo the merge is to restore a backup of the data file.
