It's that Time of the Year,

• Freecycle - Find a freecycling group near you at Recycling Group Finder. If you can't find a group near you, consider starting one, either on your own or through organizations like the ReUseIt Network, FreeMesa.org, The Freeuse Network, FreeSharing.org, Sharing Is Giving or The Freecycle Network. Freecycling works best when the group members live geographically close because it's more convenient and uses less energy when stuff is exchanged.

• The dollar store - Believe it or not, the dollar store is a key place to look when searching for the best back to school deals, some things may not be the best quality and you will have to use your instincts and watch out for lemons, however, you can still find some great, inexpensive school supplies such as notebooks, folders, rulers and more.

• Stock up during sales - Now I know this won't help you now, so unless your kid is graduating this year, end of September school supplies will start to go on clearance. Stock up and save. Stores such as Target and Walmart especially have some great bargains.

• Garage sales - Believe it or not, garage sales are great places to find school supplies. A lot of times people clean out their closets and find supplies they no longer need.
