Movie Review (Synopsis):

“Step Up Revolution” is the next installment in the worldwide smash Step Up franchise, which sets the dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami. Emily, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, but soon falls in love with Sean, a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs. The crew, called the MOB, strives to win a contest for a major sponsorship opportunity,

 but soon Emily’s father threatens to develop the MOB’s historic neighborhood and displace thousands of people. Emily must band together with Sean and the MOB to turn their performance mobs into protest mobs, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause.

An aspiring dancer in Miami befriends an innovative flash mob dance crew, and helps them to stage a footloose protest in order to save their neighborhood from a greedy developer. Emily (Kathryn McCormick) has always dreamt of becoming a professional dancer. Shortly after moving to Miami, she meets up with Sean (Ryan Guzman) – the leader of a crew called The Mob that takes the art of dance straight to the streets. Meanwhile, 

as Emily falls for Sean, a powerful businessman begins plotting to demolish the crew’s historic neighborhood to make way for a highly profitable development. Now, with their homes at stake and nothing to lose, Sean, Emily, and The Mob prepare to stage a show that will save their families from getting thrown into the streets.Emily (Kathryn McCormick) arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer and soon falls in love with Sean (Ryan Guzman), a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs,

There are few cinematic genres that can deliver as much minute-for-minute audience joy as a well-executed dance film. Summit Entertainment’s Step Up franchise has consistently delivered productions that are, at the very least, wildly entertaining. 

Though 2010′s Step Up 3D struck me as a misfire (let’s be honest here – Rick Malambri may be easy on the eyes, but the boy can’t dance off-camera fast enough), its predecessors were fun, frisky endeavors that sold the dancing, even when their stories were a little weak.Though the film’s action is moved to Miami (from previous settings in Baltimore and New York), the trailer still features some standard Step Up elements – badass moves, inventive routines, a vague baddie (played by Peter Gallagher of all people!), sexy stars, and protest art. Uh, protest art? That’s right, Step Up is going Occupy – with their moves. But beyond that, longtime fans of the series are in for a real treat, as it looks like everyone’s favorite sidekick with a heart of gold and limbs of rubber is back. That’s right. Moose.

The team of Step Up Revolution has had a wonderful time shooting for the movie. The collective effort of the film unit is sure to create enormous energy. The movie is an expression of artistic protest, focusing on the latest trend of Flash mobs. The story revolves around Emily, who arrives in Miami with aspirations to become a professional dancer. She sparks with Sean, the leader of a dance crew whose neighbourhood is threatened by Emily’s father’s development plans.

The trailers of the movie Step Up Revolution have been receiving accolades movie buffs from across the globe. After the previous Step Up series, music and dance enthusiast can’t wait to watch the movie. The exclusive trailer of ‘Meet the Mob’ is a must watch trailer. Commenting on the movie, executive producer Matthew Smith said, “We have gravitated from the battles and in Step Up Revolution we focus more on creating Flash Mobs.”

McCormick’s fellow SYTYCD alum (season 4) Stephen ”tWitch” Boss reprises his role from Step Up 3D, and season 2 runner-up Travis Wall choreographed numbers for the film. Another thing worth squeeing over? Peter Gallagher makes his long-awaited return to dance films for the first time since 2000′s Center Stage. Producers Adam Shankman and Jon M. Chu (who directed Step Up 2: The Streets and Step Up 3D) returned for Revolution, and Scott Speer directed.
