How to Reset Password for Windows, Mac, and iPhone When Inaccessible?

Though users can store various kinds of passwords securely in a password manager, or write them down in a safe protected file or notebook. It is still unavoidable that someone forgot Windows password, Mac login password, iPhone passcode, etc.

When you find the password or passcode is lost, the first step is to recall it carefully. Sometimes you just temporarily forget your password, and it will be automatically back into your mind later. Part 1: Reset Windows password

Part 2 Reset Mac password

Resetting Mac password is an easy job if you have the installation disc for your Mac.

Step 1. Insert your Mac installation disc in your computer and hold the “C” key to boot from disc.

Step 2. Select your language, and then select Password Reset when the “Utilities” or “Installer” menu appears.

Step 3. Select the Mac hard disk that the forgotten password is on, and then select the username of the forgotten Mac user account. And you’ll then be asked to select a new password.

Step 4. Type a new password for the selected Mac user account, type it again to confirm it, and then Click “Save”.

Step 5. Restart your Mac as usual from the hard drive and you’ll be able to log in your computer with the newly reset password.

Part 3: Reset iPhone password

1. Connect the iPhone to your computer using the USB cable.

2. Hold down the power button on the iPhone. The screen will change asking you to use a slider to power the unit off. Use the slider.

3. Press the power and home (bottom-center) buttons simultaneously. The unit will power back on. After a few seconds, the screen will change to a warning triangle. The iPhone is now in recovery mode.

4. Launch iTunes and click on the iPhone icon on the left side of the screen. Make sure that the “Summary” tab is selected and scroll down until you see the “Restore” button. Click “Restore.”

5. Click “Don’t Back Up,” then click “Restore.” The iPhone will be reverted to its original factory settings, which will clear the passcode.

Important: This process will also remove all data from the iPhone, including music, contacts, messages and saved e-mails, so you will have to re-add these data manually or might be able to recover some data automatically if you have backed up them before.

6. After that, you can create a new password for your iphone.
