iOS Game Hero Academy

Posted by aosot on December 31st, 2012

Hero Academy is a turn-based strategy game that feels a bit like a MOBA-style game Archeage open beta account. The goal is simple: eliminate the enemy team's crystals. You do this with a variety of units which vary greatly depending upon the team you choose (there are now five available in the iOS version, four of which are available as in-app purchases). With a limited amount of moves each turn and the units you have to dispatch being different every game, there are constant decisions needing to be made. For instance: Do I gamble on swapping something out of on-deck circle in the hopes of getting something I really need for next turn, or do i make use of what I know I have available right now?

Asynchronous multiplayer that makes it possible to play in almost real-time or over the course of days is perhaps its best feature, as it allows you to play at the sort of pace you want. It's hardly the deepest strategy game you'll ever play and, at least for me, has never been the sort of game I wanted to play for several hours in a row, but as something you pick up a few times a day, it's just about perfect. source: 1up
