The legendary figurehead of game developer/publisher Konami gave his much-anticipated address to the throngs of attendees cabal2 account at the Penny Arcade Expo today, and aside from melting everybody's faces off with the awesomeness of the Ground Zeroes reel, he also made some interesting comments about his future in the series.

Kojima said that he's actually not a fan of spin-offs (ala Metal Gear Rising, )#) but that he likes what Platinum Games is doing with the title.

"First of all, I'm not a huge fan of spin-offs, " Kojima said. "But as far as Rising is concerned, if it works out well, I'd really like to work with Platinum again to make a sequel. "

Quite frankly, as huge fans of both Metal Gear Solid, and the awesome-looking Revengeance, the prospect of a full-fledged sequel is incredibly exciting. Metal Gear Rising has been reportedly held back by development issues for a long time before Platinum took over. So the prospect of a game developed from the ground up by Platinum and helmed by Kojima is enticing indeed.

In slightly related news, Kojima also said that he'd love to make a new main game in the Metal Gear Solid series starring The Boss, a fan-favorite character from Metal Gear Solid 3. Which undoubtedly sent MGS fanboys into a tizzy.source:gamesradar.com.
