How to Save Money on Your Energy Bills By Using Synergy

A lot has been said about green energy, the need to “go green” and reducing ones “carbon footprint”. Of course like many things, the green movement has been infected with people and organizations that are more interested in pushing an agenda than actually working toward improving people’s lives. With so much info floating around, it’s hard to know what is legitimate, what is spin, and what works. However, Synergy has made a name for themselves as the premier Las Vegas electrical contractor, and they have practical answers without spin.

When compact fluorescent lamps (CFL’s) first came out, they looked like the butt of a joke more than something to light your house up with. After all, they looked like someone took a fluorescent tube, twisted it so that it fit into a smaller space, and stuck light bulb threads on it. They were ugly, broke too easy, and didn’t put out enough light.

The new generation of CFL’s look just like round bulbs, are as sturdy as the ol’ reliable, and have much better light output. LED lights have also come into their own, with many municipalities turning to them to replace their old street lights. Both types of lighting, however, offer one thing that the old incandescent and high pressure sodium lights can’t match: they use a lot less electricity to produce a just as bright is not brighter output. In the instance of the LED street lights vs. the HPS lights, they use 65% less juice and are almost twice as bright.

OK, so it can be shown that LED’s and CFL’s can actually be greener than their predecessors. But, there’s the matter of cost. It’s true that CFL’s cost more than their incandescent counterparts. And LED’s can be quite pricey as well. But, even if you’re not one to have much environmental concern, and hold your wallet close, you can still come out ahead by switching over.

Stop and consider how much money you can save on your energy bills if you’re using lighting that uses 50-65% less electricity. Eventually, the lighting would pay for itself. Even the least environmentally conscious person likes to save money.

And on a more Earth friendly tone, with more houses and businesses using such lighting, there is less demand on the electrical grid. Less electricity has to be produced, which means that less fuel such as coal and natural gas has to be burned. All this translates into less carbon dioxide and pollutants in the air. All of this ties into a cause and effect: less energy need to light up homes and the streets, less electricity needs to be produced, less fuels burned and cleaner air. Yes, far too many environmental concerns go too far, almost like they want us to live in caves again. But this is one approach that has proven benefit, and is easy to put into use.

As your Las Vegas electrical contractor, Synergy has the knowledge to help you decide which type of lighting will work best for your home or business, and the professional installation. You too can go green without making any changes in lifestyle.
