Have you been anxiously waiting to the moment when you’ll start your university studies in London? It can be an incredible experience. It is our first taste of being really independent. Free to make our own decisions. While some of us won’t have a lot of money for the rent during the time we attend the universities in London, it is all worth it when to thinking about all of the life time experiences, friends and memories that we will have.

For many of us, having a roommate will be a must Usually going to a university is a big deal and it can get expensive to live by oneself in a flat without roommates or flatmates. During your studies in London, the major cost (besides the university tuition) will be the high expenses on living costs. Especially when you study in London, one of the most expensive cities to live in. This, along with the fun of sharing a place with some friends, or students and expats who just moved to London from various countries, leads many to share a room in a flatshare or houseshare in the central areas of London. However, having a roommate can be a pleasant experience or it can be a nightmarish one.

Everyone wants a roommate that they can form a good, trusted relationship with. There are so many sights and attractions in London, so by becoming friends with your roommate, you will always have someone to experience the fun of the vivid London life. If a friendship is not possible due to differences in personality and interests, then most of us would settle for a relationship that has mutual respect. You don’t have to be best friends with your roommate, but it does help if you have respect for each other and treat each other kindly.

One way to find a roommate to share a flat with in London would be through putting an advertisement in the newspaper. This method is one that has been around for ages. You are sure to reach some people through your advertisement, but it may not be the best way to find flatmates London.

Another option for finding a room or a flatmate in London is to ask your friends if they or anyone they know is in need of a flatmate. This may be a good option, but the results you will get are limited by the people whom you know. If you don’t have a lot of friends, you may not get a lot of options for roommates.

Yet another option for finding a roommate is to go online to one of the flatmates sites, view profiles of other people looking to share a flat in the UK, and find the ones which best match your shared interests. This is obviously the best option as it can help with selecting a compatible roommate and it won’t take up as much of your time.
