Seafood?s greatest: frozen lobster and frozen mussels

Frozen mussels will add flavor and succulence to any dish, and if they’ve been properly frozen, they will remain fresh for you to cook safely. You will also be able to find them at any time of the year. A few tips on how to cook mussels include preserving them in a bowl with ice, but it is recommended that you eat them as soon as possible. In that sense, make sure that you buy the mussels just before going home, or before cooking them.

While not everyone eats mussels, lobsters, on the hand, are everyone’s favorite. It might look like a complicated meal to cook, but in fact it’s quite simple. You can either buy fresh lobster, especially if you live near the coast, or you can go for the other common option: frozen lobster. In order to remain alive after being transported to different regions of the country, the lobsters need oxygen, which means they have to be cooled before being packed. Just as with mussels, you should cook the lobster fresh, but if you’re planning on using it another day, it’s not hard to preserve the lobster for other meals. Experts will tell you to either keep the lobster in the fridge – only if you’re planning on cooking it the next day -   or boil it in salt water for about 10 minutes, cool, seal and freeze it.
