Learn how to solve problems of laptop screens displaying a blank or black screen

Does your screen remain blank or unresponsive after switching your laptop on? Learn how to solve common problems of your laptop screen that can occur at startup by reading this article. Before you begin to implement the steps, disconnect all connected devices except for the mouse. This includes removing USB sticks and memory cards for cameras in card reader slots.

Step 1 is listening to the noise made by the laptop and checking for light indictors. Do you hear the fans of the computer spinning? If your operating system has recently undergone upgrade it is possible for your laptop to start in a saving energy mode and to display a blank screen before loading. Once the operating system loads (about 2 minutes after startup), press the power button to see if the computer resumes from suspended state. If the computer remains in a suspended state each time after startup, disable energy saving in BIOS.
