Cosmetic lenses are a simple and convenient way to change eye color. These eye lenses are colored in different shades, may have diopter power or not, and in addition to the aesthetic purpose of changing eye color, they can also have medical recommendations in certain situations. Most manufacturers of cosmetic eye contacts offer both flat lenses (which have no diopter and do not interfere with vision) and corrective lenses for people with refractive errors of the eye.

Colored eye contacts are of different types. Some lenses present a faded hue, usually blue or green, for better visibility and for them to be easily noticed when applying on the eyeball, on their removal and handling in general. Given the fact that their color is very light, they don’t influence the color of the eye in any way.

There is a type of cosmetic contact lenses with a solid color but transparent, slightly darker than those previously described. They change eye color, but their purpose is to emphasize the natural color. They are particularly suitable for people who have light colored eyes and want to get a more intense shade. Completely opaque colored lenses change eye color. People who have a dark iris need such lenses to change eye color. They come in a wide range of colors, with or without diopter power.

Cosmetic contact lens companies strive to produce lenses that mimic the natural look of your iris best. Because this area does not have an absolutely uniform color, but rather colored shapes and lines, some lenses are trying to enhance this through a series of colored dots applied on their surface. The central portion of cosmetic contact lenses which overlaps the pupil is transparent and colorless in order not to modify the image. The most recent discovery is represented by the lenses that filter light shades. They are mostly used in sports because they have the advantage of emphasizing certain colors (for example yellow, the color of tennis balls) by filtering other shades.

There are medical cases in which wearing cosmetic eye lenses is recommended, for example, when a person has no portion of the iris or his eyes are characterized by the absence of iris completely. Cosmetic contact lenses present a series of disadvantages too. Although manufacturers provide a wide range of sizes, suitable for any physiognomy, there are some situations, such as during blinking, when you can drag the colored part of the lens more or less over the pupil. Also, the pupil size varies depending on the amount of light it receives and thus increasing or decreasing in diameter. Sometimes, when the light is weak and transparent pupil is larger than the center of the lens, vision can be adversly affected. In case of bright light, the pupil shrinks and a portion of the iris may become visible, in which case the natural color of your eyes can be seen.

Choose your favorite color for eye contacts and then order your eye lenses from the specialized online shops.
