Drakensberg in Afrikaans means “Dragon Mountain”. As the name implies it is the highest mountain range of South Africa. It is also termed as the “Drakensberg alti- Montane grasslands and woodlands ecoregion” by the World Wildlife Fund due to the presence of treeless peaks with steep slopes that predominately consist of small shrubs, creeping plants and grasslands. The mountain also consists of Tugela Falls, which is the second highest waterfall in the world.
