Music Marketing Plan: Should You Use Music Blogs?
Posted by TheRiddim on July 14th, 2020
If you're a brand new artist establishing yourself for the first time online, or an already established band witha loyal fan base, there's one thing all musicians will have to do that is love it or hate it.
The right way to market your music
Marketing is a way for your music to attract fans and recognition. This can be achieved through a number of different strategies such as creating material, providing exclusive experiences, building a sense of community, and, yes, even paying for reaching fans. The first step towards effective marketing is to develop a marketing plan for your music. It's a comprehensive understanding of your audience, the marketplace and a plan to achieve whatever goals you set for yourself.
Learn about your fans
With that understanding, you can identify where your fans exist and get involved online. You will also know how to interact appropriately with your fans, and most importantly, you will be able to offer your fans value to keep them happy and come back for more. To develop a clear picture of your 'ideal fan' you should ask yourself a few questions. You want engaging fans, who can become word-of-mouth superfans, who will buy your albums, merchandise, and tickets.'
Comprehend the market
You need to grasp what's happening internationally both within your local culture and within your genre. Getting that understanding will help you decide where you fit in and what special value you can offer your fans. Having your set, measurable, actionable objectives in place, it is now time to develop a strategy to achieve those goals.
Build a workable action plan
This includes focusing on ads, content development, traveling, management of social media/community, and networking. Having a job in music seriously is no different from attempting to start up a new company in any other field. Development needs both time and resources. Make sure the action plan is practical, or you'll find yourself off the tracks easily and not be able to achieve your goals. Your efforts to build a concrete, actionable, and observable marketing strategy for your music will save you tremendous amounts of time, money and stress later.
Include music blogs in your music marketing plan to effectively generate more fans and awareness for your songs online.
