Simply Play XAVC Videos on iPad and Popular Mobile Devices

A few days ago, I bought the wonderful Sony PMW-F55 camcorders and shot some funny videos with it. Since I was going out for my holiday, so I thought about transferring those videos to my iPad so that I was able to enjoy them free on the way, but unluckily, no matter how hard I tried, the error kept on popping up, saying that "the file cannot be opened". Then, I tried to import the videos to my iPhone 5, the same problem happened again. It was really a let-down to me; after all, I was trying my best to make my travelling more interesting. But, what should I do now?

I talked with one of my friends about this trouble. He said that there was nothing to worry about since it was very easy to handle the problem. According to what he said, the Sony PMW-F55 shoots videos in a newest XAVC footage which was introduced by Sony in 2012, it was specially designed to be used in Sony HD camcorders and it would be more and more popular in the marketplace in the future. One of the biggest disadvantages of this unique XAVC is that it cannot be recognized by most of popular devices and programs, for example, we cannot directly import XAVC footage to mobile devices for playback or edit XAVC in Final Cut Pro, iMovie and Sony Vegas, etc since all of them don't have the ability to support the XVAC format at all. "Then, is there a way to make it possible?" I asked. "Of course," he said with smile, and kept on saying that the best and easiest way was to find a kind of useful software to help. "What kind of software?" "Well, I would recommend you trying the best XAVC converter AND Mac XAVC converter developed Doremisoft since it is one of the best video converter providers in the world", he replied, "I have used the converter to transcode XVCA to MOV and was able to share XAVC footage to YouTube successfully with little effort." So, I decided to take his advice.

I downloaded the freee trail version of Doremisoft XAVC converter for Mac, by the way, if you are running Windows, you can choose the Windows version.

To my surprise, it only takes three steps for me to conduct the conversion.

Step 1: After launching the converter, click the "Add file" button in the main screen interface to import the XAVC footages to the program.

Tips: to download the XAVC footages to your computer, you may need the Content Browser v2.0 and a Sony SxS card reader/Echo Thunderbolt Card reader, or a computer equipped with an Express Card 34 slot.

Step 2: Set the output video format

Since I would like to transfer XAVC to iPad for playback, I choose "Convert to" > "Common Video" > "MP4" as the output format.

Tips: You can cut/split/crop/rotate the XAVC footages by using the editing function provided.

Step 3: Start to convert convert XAVC to MP4

After doing the simple editing, press the big button to launch the conversion which will be done in a short time.
I was greatly impressed by the wonderful performance this XAVC converter conducted.
