EA to give a 'first look' at Star Wars plans during E3 press briefing

Electronic Arts will give an idea of its plans for the Star Wars license during aion kinah its E3 2013 press briefing, said EA Labels president Frank Gibeau today.

The press conference will include "a first look at our plans for the Star Wars partnership with Disney, " said Gibeau on the company's Beat blog. Earlier this month, EA announced it had signed an exclusive, multi-year licensing agreement with Disney for the rights to produce Star Wars games. EA-owned studios BioWare, Visceral Games and DICE are working on Star Wars projects, but EA does not expect to release a new Star Wars game before April 2014.

EA will also use its E3 press briefing to show off next-generation titles including Battlefield 4 and the next entry in the Need for Speed franchise, as well as next-generation EA Sports titles such as FIFA 14, NBA Live 14, Madden NFL 25 and EA Sports UFC. Those sports games will all be running on the company's new Ignite engine, which EA Sports executive vice president Andrew Wilson announced during Microsoft's Xbox One reveal event today.

EA's E3 event is set for 4 p. m. ET on June 10.
