Some Sunshine During the Long Winter Blues

Posted by londonducktours on May 23rd, 2013

‘Bring me sunshine in your smile, bring me laughter all the while’. To readers of a certain age this refrain may bring the Pavlovian-style automatic response of a smile to the face, and maybe even a moistening to the eye as they remember the peerless comedy and faultless repartee of one of the greatest comedy duos of all time. For those too young to remember Morecambe and Wise, how about another weather related metaphor from Rihanna offering use of her umbrella, ella, ella to a special friend?

Most will get the fact that Rihanna isn’t really getting out her brolly to stop someone getting a literal soaking and neither are Eric and Ernie asking for highs of 25 degrees C and liberal use of the factor 20. The point is we use the weather to reflect how we feel and readily talk about sunny dispositions, feeling under a cloud or literally feeling under the weather.

Why Not Warm to London Duck Tours?

It’s a good job we can find the sunny moments in our hearts because in this country and particularly this year, the real sun hasn’t exactly put in much of an appearance. Winter has had its icy grip on us well into the spring months and left our poor lambs shivering when they should be gambolling, frolicking and whatever else lambs do.

That’s why London Duck Tours is bringing the sunshine in the form of fun this spring. The historic monuments, and iconic buildings look fantastic whatever the weather, and we might even suggest that the grey skies give The Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey even more gravitas and makes them photograph better! Plus the sight of your breath condensing in the air makes you even more appreciative of being tucked up inside your Duck!

Spring into a Duck!

You’re safe from the elements thanks to the roofs on our WW2 veteran vehicles (installed after the Ducks left active service for the comfort of our passengers). The warmth of our knowledgeable and witty guides more than makes up for the wintery weather and the moment your Duck splashes down into the River Thames will banish the winter blues and give you goose-bumps of excitement!

So bring some sunshine into your life this spring with a fun, exciting and unique adventure with London Duck Tours.
