Childcare Coventry is OFSTED registered to care for 41 children, aged 6 weeks to 5 years, and is accessible to all families and children from all sections of the community.

The Childcare Coventry offers high quality childcare and education in a stimulating, comfortable atmosphere and makes sure that all children feel included, secure and valued.

It builds positive relationships with parents in order to work effectively with them and their children. In this environment of mutual respect and trust, children can have the security and confidence to learn and develop.

The nursery employs a well-trained and qualified workforce, thereby enabling staff to build caring and strong relationships with children and parents. Childcare Coventry acknowledges the importance and value of our trained staff and, through continual development, it strengthens the team and the setting. By promoting and valuing individual achievement, Childcare Coventry staff becomes extremely committed.

The Childcare Coventry also acknowledges the importance of drinking water and, therefore, it encourages children to drink water throughout the day. Moreover, the Nursery Coventry has a great Nutrition Policy and welcomes parental involvement in developing or reviewing policy.

The Nursery Coventry has a very large outdoor area. The grounds include a crop area which enables children to plant and grow their own vegetables, trees and plants. The outdoor curricular schedules offer a hands-on approach to learning about science, nature, food health and understanding of the environment that surrounds us. The outdoor facility promotes learning and growth in all developmental areas. Equipment areas and resources include garden toys, a play area, sandpits, play house, climbing frames, swings, pets and a picnic area.

The Nursery Coventry encourages new experiences and allows the children to manipulate and evaluate their ideas. It also places great emphasis on outdoor play according to the belief that children develop and gain learn by becoming acquainted with their surroundings.

There are many benefits to children being exposed to fresh air and regular physical activity, but there is also a Toddler Area – a room designed for the 0-3 year olds. The open plan room for the toddlers is fun and a stimulating environment designed to encourage children's potential for development. The space contains a comfortable book area (to encourage learning language) as well as tables and chairs used for various activities. Other areas provide a large range of learning, creative and developmental equipment and are stocked with educational resources and toys to entice children to play and grow in a positive environment.

The second section is designed for the babies. In this section, there are cots, play areas, mats and developmentally appropriate toys which are all used to benefit the babies in an area of their own. The first floor is called the yellow room and designed for the children over three years old. The open plan format supports the needs of each individual child's development with areas designated for creative play, art, information technology, construction, messy play as well as our relaxation, tactile and sensory room. Our toys and educational resources are based on the Foundation Stage principles and are used in conjunction with play, planned activities and other educational materials. These resources encourage each child to explore and develop new and existing skills while gaining understanding of the community and environment around them. There are also separate children's toilets with low level sinks and temperature regulated taps.

Children's awareness of personal hygiene is also encouraged: great emphasis is placed on washing of hands and face as well as the importance of dental care.
