Blooming tea or flowering tea is a decorative form where the tea leaves are bundled with tea flower to give a high aesthetic look. To make blooming tea, dried tea leaves are wrapped around the dried tea flower. They together form a bulb and are dried under controlled conditions. When steeped in water, the bud unfolds and blooms like a flower with the original tea flower as a centrepiece. The unfolding of the bud in front of the eyes is a spectacular sight, and in the process the flavour of the original tea is not lost anyway, so the taste is always the best. Black, white or green any tea leaves can come in the blooming tea form. The process of brewing the blooming tea varies slightly depending on the exact type of tea leaves it contains. However, in every case the process is simple enough, and taste and flavour are unadulterated.

The Process Of Brewing A Blooming Tea Flower:

  • To observe the full beauty of the unfolding of the bud you should select a transparent medium to large sized container with a proper lid for the process, and place the blooming tea bud in it.
  • Preparing the water for the tea varies depending on the type of tea leaves the bud contains. If it is black tea, you need to bring the water to boil before you pour it into the container; in case, it is white, the water you will pour into the container should not be boiled, to maintain the best test.
  • After you pour the hot water into the glass container wait for three to five minutes for the bloom.
  • Once it has bloomed fully, and the water has started to take its colour, cover the lid and let it steep for a minimum of 3 minutes. You can steep it longer if you like a stronger tea and robust colour. Taste it while it steeps to get the exact strength you need.
  • Once it has reached the desired level, pour the whole tea into cups or another storing container and add sugar or milk according to your taste.

Tips: Do not leave the tea in the same pot with the blooming tea flower. The tea will get too dark and bitter. You can use the same blooming tea for 3-4 times depending on how much tea you make each time. You can check the online stores to kind the best variety of blooming tea.
