Although it is a healthy food, cacao powder is also known for having a unique, great taste.  This makes it quite special in the health foods category since most healthy foods are expected to be mostly bland.  It would go quite well with spirulina powder.

The healthy part of cacao powder comes from the flavonoid antioxidants that it contains.  These flavonoids are simply plant pigments but they are very useful in protecting the body against many chronic illnesses and even heart disease.  They could also be useful in protecting against cancer.  And since they are antioxidants, these flavonoids in cacao powder also increase the collagen levels in the body.  This means that they are invaluable in the anti-ageing process.  They help to slow the aging process and therefore help in improving beauty, complexion, and health of the skin.  Cacao powder also has vitamin C, amino acids, and theobromine in its arsenal.  Theobromine is the chemical that gives cacao powder it caffeine like effects although only in very mild levels.
