Crystal Chandelier Parts

Crystal chandelier parts do not give off the required sparkle and brilliance if they are dusty or grimy. Chandelier parts have to be taken care of in a delicate way, but they also have to be cleaned thoroughly.

One special and increasingly popular method of cleaning crystal chandelier parts is spray and drip-dry cleaning. This method can help remove dirt and dust every two to six months. Crystal chandelier parts need to be removed from the fixture to be cleaned. Instead, only the power to the chandelier needs to be switched off and make sure that no water enter the sockets. For further protection, the bulbs can be covered with plastic bags.

A towel should also be neatly placed on the floor below the crystal chandelier parts in order to make sure that drips will not stain the carpet and will be absorbed by the towel instead. The drips will be the ones coming from the cleaning spray that should preferably be a store-bought crystal chandelier parts solution and not a typical cleaner. If this type of spray is too expensive, then it should be made at home by mixing one part of ammonia with three parts of distilled water. Such a spray will not leave water marks on the chandelier parts. Alternatively, some crystal chandelier parts manufacturers believe that soapy water can also be an effective cleaner.

Once chandelier parts have been sprayed-on thoroughly (with the exception of electrical and wire parts), the chandelier should be left to dry. The dirty solution will then drip off the crystal chandelier parts. Afterwards, the crystal chandelier parts have to be sprayed again, but this time with distilled water that can rinse off any remaining soap or dirt. An alternative to allowing crystal chandelier parts drip dry is wiping them with white cotton. Once the chandelier parts are dry, the plastic bags can be safely removed from the light bulbs.

However, if individual crystal chandelier parts have accumulated stubborn dirt and grime, some of them might need washing by hand. Therefore, a sink or a basin has to be prepared along with a soft towel that is meant to protect the crystals while washing them. A second basin should also be lined the same way in order to have it filled with hot water and ammonia that has to be used for rinsing the crystal chandelier parts.

Individual chandelier parts should be removed carefully and placed into the basin of soapy water where they can be washed gently. Afterwards, they can be rinsed in the second basin and wiped dry with a clean cloth.

If the frame and arms of the chandelier also require cleaning, then, they ought to be washed with a cloth dampened with soapy water.

After the whole cleaning process, the crystal chandelier parts can be placed back on the fixture by using a cloth or gloves that will prevent any leaving of fingerprints on the crystals. The cleaning processes can then, be repeated until the entire chandelier has been cleaned thoroughly.
