Traveling in Hamburg, Germany

Germany is a country that many people want to visit. Many think of Oktoberfest and sausages when they think of Germany, but there is so much more to this country including cities like Hamburg.

The city of Hamburg is located on the Elbe River. Hamburg’s port is one of the ten most important in the entire world. Hambur’scentre is mostly known as a district for shopping, but there are also other notable attractions in the area. Most of the tourist destinations are found around St. Nikolai. Near St. Nikolai is Hamburg’s oldest remaining bridge. This bridge was constructed in the 17th century. Another noteworthy place to visit is Auswandererhalle.

Near the centre of the city, tourists love to visit the Bishop’s tower and the Hammaburg fortress. The Bishop’s tower was built in the 11th century and the Hammaburg fortress was built in the 9th century. It’s truly awe inspiring to get to visit structures that have been in existence for hundreds of years!

Hamburg has several museums that are known around the world. One of the most notable museums is Deichtorhallen. There are also some fantastic theaters in Hamburg including the Ernst-Deutsch Theater and the Laeiszhalle.

While Hamburg may not be thought of as a beach destination, there are some beautiful beaches. The area between Övelgönne and Blankenese is known for its beaches. While you might not go to Hamburg just for its beaches, you can certainly spend an afternoon enjoying a swim or a picnic there during the summer. Other natural places to visit in Hamburg include the parks like PantenunBlomen and HagenbecksTierpark.

The nightlife is a good place to visit any city as no one wants to spend all night in their hotel! Hamburg is popular for its shopping district which runs along the Mönckebergstraße in the centre of the city. The Schanzenviertel has also been gaining popularity recently because of the fantastic boutiques that are there.

If you want a terrific dining experience, visit one of the many restaurants in Hamburg. You can find traditional German dishes, including sausages, as well as cuisines from around the world. There are bars, pubs, and restaurants galore so everyone can find something they like.

You may enjoy your visit in Hamburg so much that you decide to buy some Hamburg property. No one could blame you as Hamburg is one city that has a little bit of everything.
