Reasons to Live in Glasgow

Besides improving on your Scottish accent, there are many great reasons to consider a move to the country. Edinburgh is the capital city in Scotland but Glasgow has the most people living there. It is located on the west coast of Scotland and has a population of over 600,000. The beautiful city has won an award for its architecture. It won the “UK City of Architecture” award and if you make the move to Glasgow, you will have the chance to see the reason why all the time.

Glasgow’s architecture is stunning. The contrast between the classical architecture of Glasgow University and some of the more modern architecture really makes for a beautiful cityscape. Glasgow homes add to the mix of scenery.

Edinburgh certainly has its attractions like festivals that are popular world-wide, but Glasgow is a great place to be all the time. It is a metropolis with a lot of attractions like shopping, recreational activities, and the nightlife. Argyle Street and Buchanan Street are popular destinations for shoppers. At night time Glasgow is full of life. The pubs, restaurants, and bars offer something for everyone.  So whether you are in search of some traditional Scottish cuisine or some international food, you can find what you are looking for.

Another thing that makes Glasgow a great place to live is that it is the centre of Scotland’s live music industry. Glasgow is home to King Tut’sWahWah Hut and the Barrowlands. These venues have helped to launch the music careers of many UK musicians.

Just because Glasgow is a busting metropolitan area it doesn’t mean that you can’t see a bit of country. Glasgow tends to feel very open because of the parks and gardens that are located throughout the city. There are also no skyscrapers that are often part of the skylines of major cities. If you are intent on seeing a bit more nature, however, you can always take a short trip outside of Glasgow to spend time in the Scottish countryside.

Glasgow is just one city in Scotland that makes a great place to live. There are other cities in Scotland that are also great places to live and that offer a different lifestyle to that of Glasgow.
