BDSM Inspired by "50 Shades of Grey?

Ever since E.L.James’s novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ has come out, it has been taking the literary market by storm.  The voyeur in us is intrigued by the plotline of this erotic novel which borders on BDSM and other erotic sexual acts. It is not only titillation but also a fantasy come true for most readers who identify with the lead characters, Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, may be somewhat reluctantly. The depiction of sexual practices like, BDSM in the novel became a talking point and the novel was elevated to the stature of making it to the secret must-have list of books of most readers. First in the Fifty Shades Trilogy, this book has been in talks of being turned into a major motion picture.

The author of this literary success story, E.L. James, has been very active in the entire selection of the cast and crew of the movie adaptation. It was she who announced that the movie would be directed by Sam Taylor-Wood. The rumour mills were abuzz with the news that the then real life couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would be playing the lead characters of Anastasia Steele, the demure and docile college student and Christian Grey, the deep, dark and brooding eccentric proprietor, respectively.

Expect to see some steamy action between the lead pair, under the covers as the plot demands it. Since not many films come to our mind when we talk about BDSM, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ can be a welcome break from the run of the mills ‘wham, bam and thank you mam’ fare. The film is scheduled to release on the 1^st of August 2014, in the United States. Till then the anxious followers of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ would have to wait with bated breath to see if the movie does complete and unequivocal justice to the literary masterpiece of E.L. James.
