Have you heard of the names of Ettore Sottsass and Gio Ponti? These two are considered among the greatest ever furniture designers. They are only two in the long list of Italian furniture designers that have taken furniture designing to unforeseen heights over the years. Contemporary Italian furniture has a lot to do with the benchmarks that Sottsass and Ponti set up years ago. This is why in the domain of contemporary modern furniture you cannot ignore the Italian context.

The first time Italian interior designing came into the limelight was in the early 1900s. However, the designers then lacked the balance between creativity and elegance. In all honesty Italian interior design during this period was largely based on the existing French art deco style. It was Ponti that transformed Italian furniture designing.

In 1926 the Razionalismo style of furniture designing came into being and it was made popular by Gruppo 7, a company led by the likes of Gino Pollini, Giuseppe Terragni and Luigi Figini. It was actually the fall of Fascism and rise of socialism that brought Italian furniture designing into the forefront of this domain. Later on the most famous Italian fashion houses started designing furniture under the brand name. Some of the names here include those of Armani, Gucci, Moschino, Prada and Versace. The other notable names in Italian furniture design are Atrium and Zanussi.

This whole tradition of creating exception furniture designs has continued in Italy and today you see some of the finest pieces of contemporary modern furniture being designed by Italians. In any case whenever there is the design element involved Italians have always come out trumps in terms of their thought process and innovative ideas. This is one of the reasons why contemporary Italian furniture never goes out of style.

Contemporary Italian furniture is not just value for money but much more than that. You may need to pay more for Italian contemporary modern furniture but it’s more than worth the price. Italian furniture at your home means heightened aesthetics and heightened senses. Those lines that they create, those curves that they use both symmetrically and asymmetrically and those elegant pieces that come out of their furniture design stores are truly works of art.

Today when most of us need to get accommodated in limited space it is important that we choose our furniture accordingly. It is important that contemporary modern furniture is chosen because they tend to be more ergonomic. This means they not only add elegance and style to our homes but also save space, something that is important for anyone that has to manage in limited accommodation space. And as I’ve been reiterating again and again in terms of appearance and style not too many can compete with contemporary Italian furniture. In short, Italian contemporary furniture offers you the best of everything.

Never compromise on style when it comes to choosing modern contemporary furniture. Choose the right contemporary Italian furniture and that's all you need to do to improve the look of your home.

Designing of contemporary Italian furniture has a lot to do with the tradition of designing in Italy. Even today Italians rule the domain of contemporary modern furniture.
