EL James admits she is ?terrified? of ?50 Shades of Grey? movie

Coming from the woman who has written probably the most successful erotic thriller in recent times, this is epic. EL James or Erica James has said that she did not expect her books, particularly this trilogy to do so well and it was her dream to only see her books make it to the bookshelves. The unprecedented success that she and her books have enjoyed, and are still enjoying, has completely ‘terrified’ her as she is not used to this. Blaming her mother for worrying too much about things, James has said that she was not even thinking a movie adaptation when she wrote the raunchy and racy thriller.

But no matter what she expected, she is at the helm of affairs now. In her quest to get the movie adaptation right, she is going all out and is involved in the casting process as well. The trilogy has also made her the highest selling and highest earning author this year. So she has a lot to look forward to with the movie adaptation. The book has tasted towering success and if all goes well, the film will too, at least that’s the idea behind it. The 50 Shades Movie has already run into quite a few controversies, given the subject it is based on and the casting turmoil that has plagued the movie till now.

The casting issues and the subject of BDSM, on which the movie is based, have sparked controversies with actors walking out and new ones replacing them. All this has upset the shooting schedule of the movie and the release has been pushed back to February 2015, much to the dismay of the fans. Though the movie Fifty Shades has been scheduled to release a day before Valentine’s Day 2015, there is hardly any love in the classical sense in the movie adaptation. There are one-sided love stories galore in the film adaptation in the movie, without much effect. The one-sided love stories worth mention are the ones between Ana and Grey and the other between José and Ana.

The movie franchisee is based on the unreciprocated feelings that Ana has for the dark and brooding billionaire, with a taste for BDSM, Christian Grey. It is at the end of the first novel that she realises love has no meaning in this arrangement that she has with Grey, and he clearly has no intentions of falling in love with her, proposing to her, marrying her and fathering her children and living happily ever after with her. The one who might have done all that for her, and with her is her best friend, José. He is clearly in love with her, but this time Ana does not reciprocate his feelings.
