When Erica James’s novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ was released as en e-book, many thought that it is merely a book that will cause titillation and will only be enjoyed by people behind closed doors. But the after the book was published and it made Erica James the highest earning author this year, these thoughts can finally be out to rest. It has been read by most and now that a film is being made on the novel, the people who have not read the novel yet, will be able to watch it on the big screen.

The big screen adaptation of the novel, also called ’50 Shades of Grey’ has got an NC-17 rating which implies that there are going to be love scenes in this venture to be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. The pivotal roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele are going to be played by Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson respectively and given that Jamie is a former Calvin Klein underwear model and Dakota read out a sexually explicit speech from the 1966 movie ‘Persona’ by Ingmar Bergman, makes us wonder that filming love scenes between the two of them should not be difficult.

The pair pays the roles of a college graduate and a self made billionaire who engage in a BDSM inspired relationship of sexual gratification. With a storyline as titillating as this there is bound to be some romp between the covers. But the people, who are used to Sam Taylor-Johnson’s school of film making, know that she will film the scenes aesthetically.   Dakota Johnson plays the role of Anastasia Steele, a shy and introvert college graduate who ends up sleeping with the dark and brooding Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan. Their red room of pain holds mysteries untold for us and we can only be a part of it once the movie releases in February 2015 at the Valentine’s Day weekend.
