Rita Ora's Mother Gets 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Novel for Christmas

The news that English songstress Rita Ora is a prominent member of the cast of the movie ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ as Mia Grey, the adopted sister of the self made billionaire Christian Grey is not new. However, for all the fans of this singer and entertainer, news is that this Christmas her mother received a copy of this erotic novel by Erica James and the singer is hopeful that now she will know what the fuss is all about. The maker of hits such as ‘How we do’ was all excited when she was cast in the role of Christian Grey’s younger sister and this 23 year old, who has already tried her hands in movies such as ‘Spivs’ and ‘Fast and Furious 6’, announced her excitement on twitter and shared the news with her fans and followers.

This 23 year old singer and now actress is also rumoured to be dating Calvin Harris now. But the news that is making headlines is how her father gifted her mother a copy of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ on Christmas and the internet is pouring over with pictures of her in a Santa pullover, to ring in the season, and her mother with a thoughtful look on her face, holding a copy of the erotic novel. The photo shared by the singer herself, came with the caption which showed that this was a gift for her mother from her father and she considered it ‘cheeky’, but of course in a humorous way. In the movie version, she is among the most sought after and famous celebrities to be inducted in this production.

The producers and the director are happy and hopeful that she will be able to pull in the right kind of energy, enthusiasm and star quotient needed for the venture. When she was first selected for the role of Mia Grey, some quarters expressed their concerns and reservations about the choice of the casting team, but the same casting team which has given us Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan and an Oscar winner like Marcia Gay Harden will not give us a reason to complain with Rita Ora too. Though this will be Rita’s first major role in a movie, we are hopeful of her acting prowess since she has been trained in acting from the Sylvia Young Theatre School. Some fans of the erotic novel trilogy are vocal in their decision that Rita Ora is not the right choice for the franchise.

In the novels, her character Mia Grey has been penned by Erica James as someone who is ‘bubbly’ and chirpy with hair as black as raven and a Caucasian who is really tall. In real life, the ‘R.I.P’ singer is not that tall and does not have black hair and neither is she a Caucasian. Though many believe that looking the part has a lot to do with acting the part as well, Rita Ora’s fans will definitely back her up once the BDSM inspired love story releases sometime in February 2015.
