Amazonite Beads Come From Green Microline FeldsparPosted by adortalukdar on January 10th, 2014 Amazonite beads are formed using the green variety of microline feldspar. The amazonite that makes up amazonite beads is a mineral that does not occur very often. It has been said that the amazonite that makes up amazonite beads got its name from the mighty Amazon River. The green stones that the amazonite beads were crafted from were found in the Amazon River. Up until recently it was surmised that the green coloration in the amazonite happened because there were copper compounds in the stone. Copper often turns a greenish hue as it ages and many things that contain copper have that greenish appearance. It has been recently discovered that copper is not to blame for the green color at all. The culprit that causes amazonite to appear green is lead in the stone. This stone is often cut and polished to be used as gemstones in jewelry creation. Once the stone has been cut and polished it has a brilliant green coloring that is unique. The amazonite is pretty hard to come across. At one time the only place to get the stone from was in the Lumen Mountains located fifty miles southwest of Chelyabinsk, Russia. In this location the amazonite occurs in the granite rocks of the mountains. Then it was discovered that in Pikes Peak, Colorado the amazonite was present. More of the stone was found in Crystal Park, Colorado, and in Amelia, Virginia. There are also instances of the stone in Madagascar and in Brazil. As part of the feldspars family the amazonite crystalizes from magma in rocks that are intrusive and extrusive. Feldspars are frequently found in many different types of rock. Feldspars contain no ores, and are instead simply made up from minerals that are natural to the area they are formed in. The fact that the amazonite is not as easy to come by as some other materials that are used to create beads for jewelry making renders these beads more value than some other types have. The higher the value is on the materials that create the beads, then the higher the price of the actual beads will be. This means that the jewelry that is made from these beads will be more expensive to buy than jewelry made from other stones that are easier to come by. Most of the time the beads created from this stone are used to make necklaces or bracelets. Since beads can be formed from relatively small pieces of the stone, people actual take the chips from where the stone was cut for other purposes and they create the jewelry beads from these chips. This lowers the price somewhat because the people do not actually have to pay for these chips that they salvage during the creation of other items. Most of the time the stones are highly polished to bring out the magnificent green color they have. The green of these stones is quite different from the green hues found in jade and other green colored specimens used for jewelry creation. Amazonite beads are made from the amazonite that was named after the Amazon River. The amazonite beads are often formed from small pieces of stone that was discarded during the process of making something else. You can get more information from pandahall beads wholesale. Like it?
