The job of a driving instructor is more or less similar to that of a teacher. The role has more to do with the training aspirants to make them learn the proper way to drive a car. Moreover, one may even hire a driving instructor to improve personal driving skills.  Now to become a driving instructor, there are plenty of areas, which need some focus. Actually, the instructor must himself be aware of the tricks of driving in a proper manner. Hence, the first step is to have a valid and an appropriate driver’s license. Moreover, an instructor’s job is to teach the beginners to drive in a proper manner and within the framework of the traffic rules.

Therefore, the next stage to become a driving instructor is to make sure that one does not have a suspended license. Even, if the license is suspended due to some reason, it should not be for more than a period of two years. The specific period may vary according to the country. Hence, it is essential be sure of the specific period in any individual state. One may even have to stay alert on the number of penalty points acquired against a driver’s license. For example, someone planning to make a career, as a driving instructor in Great Britain cannot certainly afford more than six penalty points against his/her name.  The idea behind such strict measures is to make sure that the person teaching driving skills is highly disciplined for driving matters.

The experience is another factor for a person keen to become a driving instructor. One may have the perfect book knowledge, but everything will fall flat, if there is no practical experience. Hence, it is essential that the driver must have at least 2 to 3 years of practical experience in driving. The specific period again depends upon the personal laws of every country or state. In general, someone keen for a driving instructor’s job must have the basic education. The aspirant will have to be aware of the language spoken by majority in the country. The idea is to ensure that the instructor can communicate well with his/her trainees.

Actually, all this may be a bit too much for a non-professional. Hence, the way out for someone keen to become a driving instructor will be to join an accredited driver instructor-training program. There are plenty of names providing such courses and with most of them having online presence, locating someone in close vicinity should not be much of an issue. However, the idea is to join a renowned and a reputable training school. The training will certainly be a lot better.
