Use the Internet to improve your vacation

For the past seven years I have been permanently traveling around the world. In fact, three years ago I resigned from the lease of my house in the UK, and since then I have not even been to visit.

These last three years I have been living in Southeast Asia, traveling between Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia when my visas expire (it's like an international game of passing the pack, in which I play the pack). On my first visit to Laos in 2009, it caught my eye, as my songthaew made its way through Vientiane rush hour traffic, which the internet spoiled me. Whereas just ten years ago a traveler had to travel by the seat of his pants, collecting information about the progress of other tourists, when I want to learn about a destination I can find everything I need in a couple of clicks.

In fact, right now, sitting in my apartment in Bangkok, I have four internet access points. My partner and I have laptops and I also have an iPhone and an iPad. In just a couple of moments, we could open four different websites offering reviews, advice, price comparisons, and booking information เว็บพนันที่ดีที่สุดในประเทศไทย

So what is the best way to use the internet to prepare for a vacation? Well, for my money, the best thing about the internet is the sheer amount of reviews from people who have come before me. For every city, attraction, hotel, and restaurant you can think of, you can find millions of real reviews written by ordinary people. If someone has been misled by a tourist scam, I can use their experience to avoid falling for the same thing. If someone has paid x dollars for a train ticket, I can make sure that I won't pay a higher price, and if someone has found a beautiful hidden and little-visited corner of the world, I can make sure to pay a visit while I'm in the zone.

If you are planning a vacation this year, you shouldn't leave before checking out the reviews of ordinary people who have visited your destination first. While you shouldn't plan your entire trip based on the recommendations of strangers, you will probably find at least some good advice on what to see, where to eat, and what to avoid that will make your vacation that much more memorable.
