Rita Ora happy to be a part of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie

When English songstress, Rita Ora joined the cast of “Fifty Shades.....” she announced it to the world via Twitter and her fans were definitely on seventh heaven when the news broke out. She plays the role of Mia Grey, the adopted sister of BDSM loving billionaire Christian Grey. While we know that this would not be the first time Rita makes her presence felt of the big screen, this would definitely be the first time that she plays a major role, and that too in a movie which is based on a novel which has been a phenomenal success.

Rita was earlier seen in bit roles in movies such as ‘Spivs’ and ‘Fast and Furious 6’and now the 23 year old crooner will be seen in “Fifty Shades...” and is she happy to be a part of the film! The singer and actress, was recently spotted at the New York Fashion Week where she was tight-lipped about the movie and her role in it. She also said that nothing can be divulged and for all eager souls, they have to wait till the 13^th of February 2015 to catch the movie and know more about how the adaptation fares at the hands of able director Sam-Taylor Johnson.

At the Fashion Week, the ‘R.I.P’ singer could only divulge that she is just happy to be a part of the fictional ‘Grey’ family. The star joined the cast of the movie, which includes Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who play Ana and Christian respectively, in Vancouver. But it has not been a rosy ride for Rita ever since she came on board as Mia. Some of the fans of the franchise were quite vocal about how Rita was not the right choice to play the role of Mia Grey in this widely looked forward to film adaptation. 

The fans of the erotic love story, written by E.L. James, have claimed that Rita does not fit the bill of Mia Grey at all. The readers, who have read the novel, will know that though James has not specified the race of Mia Grey (since she is adopted); many feel that the character calls for a more Caucasian, with raven hair and presumably tall, sadly the singer who was born in Albania, doesn’t quite look familiar, when Mia’s skin tone is concerned.
