SalesNOW CRM: New Mapping Functionality

At SalesNOW we are always considering how the jobs of sales people are changing and evolving. Some obvious changes of course are increased needs for mobile business solutions for reps out in the field. In recent months, we have really begun to focus on how our tool can assist sales reps when mapping their daily and weekly business routes. When in the field most reps are mapping their days on their smartphones and tablets, but finding these addresses becomes a real pain. Users have to search through emails and mobile contacts, wasting valuable time. Once they have found the address, and mapped it they may only realize after visiting the customer that their next stop could have been on the way, leaving the rep no other choice except to backtrack and waste even more precious time that could have been spent selling. A final issue is that at the end of the day, managers have little detail to show that the meeting indeed took place when looking at their Web CRM environment.

The solution that we are developing at SalesNOW will allow the user to input the contacts and companies they are meeting with in a particular week and fully map out how they will be travelling to each destination right from their mobile device. These contacts and companies may be a part of a campaign or lead list that the user needs to contact. Using the CRM for iPhone application the user can handpick all of the destinations for various meetings and using our mapping integration, build a route that is most efficient. They can even choose different routing options where traffic and physical distance are considered. Finally, users who would like to avoid Data charges can send email themselves their daily routes in a printable format. The system is even able to Geocode the exact location of the meeting which allows management to pinpoint with precise. Moving forward we are hoping to have this functionality available for Android CRM users as well.
