A Checklist for Yacht Charters

When was the last time you went cruising? Or have you ever been cruising?

Cruising is fun!

...And so, are the yacht charters. Choosing one can be tricky.

A yacht is your cruise vehicle. Off course, purchasing is an expensive option, renting a good one. Why purchase when you can rent it?

Are you a first timer? If you are, here’s a checklist for yacht charters:

Research: Internet is not the ‘only’ thing. The information is instant yet authoritative or not is the question. The yacht photos on the internet may or may not be true. The field situation may be different from what you’d expected.

It is difficult to tell the condition of your cruising vehicle, just by looking at the photographs. Though, booking charters online saves you time and money but the actuality of the yacht is not guaranteed.

Ask the locals for some referrals. If a friend, neighbour, or a family member has been on a cruise, ask for suggestions from them.

Some awesome tips:

Book tickets (Book in advance for discounts) and pack your bags for a summer in Greece. Yacht charters in Greece are awesome.

*Just a note, Wednesday’s offer cheaper departures and Tuesdays offer cheaper returns. Plus, things are 50% cheaper than other parts in Europe.

Test and Inspect: An inspection of the vehicle is a good thing to do. You don’t really want it to break down in the middle of the waters. Do you? No.

So, ask for proper inspection and if possible, a test ride of the vehicle. Avoid the worst case scenario, by ensuring that the yacht has child-proof railing (If you are holidaying with your kids), adequate and reliable life-jackets.

Check your comfort. The boat is designed to unwind and not sail.

Check for hidden costs: 15% people often are charged more because they never check the bills. Read the bills thoroughly. When in doubt, bring it to the table and clear it.

If your bill does not have hidden costs, ask. It is your call to decide on the budget and investments made.

The Contract: Get everything in written. Ask the charter services to mention the cost involved, the yacht credentials, staff details etc. Before you sign the contract, make sure to go through terms and conditions mentioned.

If you don’t agree on any of the terms, ask the contractor to clarify the details or change the terms. Plus, ask for safety declaration or guarantee for worst case scenarios.

Conclusion,

The blue seas, tingling winds, and warm sun really get you off the hook. If you are travelling to Europe for a holiday, what better than Greece to visit? Greece has sunny islands and is hot. It is a popular destination!
