Hello friends. I hope you all are doing good today. I came again with big tech news regarding the launch of WhatsApp payments in India 2020. Finally, after testing WhatsApp payment WhatsApp launches its own payment platform which will increase competition in current UPI platforms.

WhatsApp is a popular video and file sharing, video conferencing communication App used by many. WhatsApp payments India 2020 transaction service was stuck in beta mode for two-and-a-half years. Now finally they have secured approval to launch the payment service.

Since February 2018 during the beta testing mode for the UPI service, WhatsApp was allowed to have only 1 million users to test the transactions

Now after securing approvals, in the first half of the launch, WhatsApp Payments can have up to 20 million - which is 20 crore users. As of now Google Pay and Walmart-owned PhonePe, are the largely used UPI service. Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc. have for a long-time feared WhatsApp’s entry in mobile payment transactions. 

This is because WhatsApp, which has 400 million - which is 40 crore - monthly active users in India Now that it has started UPI payments, they will be able to draw more customers. It will increase competition in the market.
