How to plan a Rajasthan trip for 7 days?

Rajasthan is a place where no matter how many days you spend is not enough to explore the state and thus, 7 days is very less time to cover the essence of Rajasthan's magnificence. There are so many places to visit in each of its cities. But as they say, you can always take a glass of water from the sea, you can make your Rajasthan trip for 7 days possible if you plan your travel right. 

Here’s a planned Rajasthan trip for 7 days:

 

Day 1: Jaipur Arrival

Day 2: In Jaipur

Day 3: Jaipur to Udaipur covering Ajmer and Pushkar

Day 4: In Udaipur 

Day 5: Udaipur to Jodhpur covering Ranakpur

Day 6: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer

Day 7: Jaisalmer 

 

You can start your journey from the capital city, Jaipur. After spending a couple of days in Jaipur, you can then head towards Udaipur, stopping by Ajmer and Pushkar. Spending a day in Udaipur, the next day you can drive to Jodhpur, stopping at the Ranakpur temples on your way. You could then drive to Jaisalmer spending one of the nights in the desert in a camel safari. You can stay 2 days in Jaipur, 2 days in Udaipur & 1 day in Jodhpur & 1 day in Jaisalmer. You need to travel overnight to reach the destinations. You better reach the destination at least by early morning so that you have enough time to freshen up and leave for sightseeing!

However, planning your trip depends on the type of places you want to see and various other factors. How you would want to distribute the days is all up to you. You can change any itinerary according to your preferences. The most popular tourist destinations of Rajasthan are Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, try covering them all.

Jaipur: Jaipur, known as the ‘Pink City’, is the capital of the Rajasthan state. There are innumerable places to visit in Jaipur. It is blessed with City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, Amber Fort, Nahargarh Fort, Birla Mandir. Don't miss out shopping at the Jaipur markets. 

Jodhpur: Also known as the ‘Blue City’ of the state because of blue-painted houses, Jodhpur is a must-visit gem of Rajasthan. Explore the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone Hill, Jaswant Thada and an imposing Marble museum located in the Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Jaisalmer: Explore the golden city of the state Jaisalmer, visiting the old mansions known as "Havelis", Jaisal fort, Gadisar lake and the Jain temple inside it. You can have a unique experience of the Desert by making overnight stay over Sand dunes camps and get a taste of living in tents with folk performances and Rajasthani Traditional dinner. 

Udaipur: Udaipur, the ‘City of Lakes’, is the most beautiful city of Rajasthan. It is famous for the City Palace and other tourist attractions like Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake, Monsoon Palace and Jagdish Temple. 

Not forgetting the Ranakpur, Pushkar, and Ajmer, another popular tourist destinations you should cover in your Rajasthan trip for 7 days. Close to Jaipur and on the way to Udaipur is Ajmer popular for the divine Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Pushkar, famous for the only Brahma temple in the world. While Ranakpur is known for the eye-popping Jain temples.
