As the Sunshine State is known for its limitless attractions that gather people from all over the world. With fantastic beaches along the west and east coast, Florida has the “all Summer” weather pretty much all year round. Which is why we are here to present yet another amazing, albeit less knowledgeable location. The city of Gulf Breeze, Florida surprises everyone because, despite its rather small population, it has a vast variety of attractions that can keep you busy throughout your holiday season.

As a suburb of Pensacola, FL, the small city of Gulf Breeze is just a breeze away from the westernmost city of Florida’s oceanfront. You can find it right across Pensacola Bay Bridge, 12 minutes away from Pensacola’s downtown area. With only around 7,000 residents the city offers a comfortable and very safe living for residents of all ages and backgrounds.

Given its location, Gulf Breeze, FL is a very sought after holiday destination and in the following segments we’re going to take a closer look at what the city can offer. We’ll look at ways in which you and your family can keep up with some great recreational activities as well as some amazing beaches that you can enjoy during your best holiday experiences in Gulf Breeze, FL.

Great attractions in the Gulf Breeze area

The first thing that you will have to do before we start going into details about the attractions available in this small but lovely town is to raise your expectations. Gulf Breeze Florida might be a new and small city, but it is in no way boring, unexciting or dull.

Get wet in the waves

Obviously, the first thing we are going to talk about is the sugary white sandy beaches of Gulf Breeze, FL. Go ahead and get your slippers on, no need for high heels or boots here as the sand just loves to snuggle in between your toes and why wouldn’t you let it. Your activities may be different from your average Joe’s but there are no limitations here. For those who want to try out their fishing techniques go ahead and strut your catch on the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier that just happens to be the longest pier on the west coast of Florida. Bluefish, Cobia or Flounder are just some possible catches while your eyes can wander across the horizon among dolphins, sharks and rays.

If you want to have more chances at a great catch, take the Gulf Breeze Guide Service who can offer you some memorable experiences with fly fishing or some other light game: sea trout, pompano and bonefish.

Once you’re ready to lay your fishing rod down then get ready to explore the vast Gulf Island National Seashore. While it does stretch from Florida all the way to Mississippi, in Gulf Breeze you will be able to enjoy some of those sugary white beaches with relatively warm waters where you can splash around as the shallow waters extend into the ocean. Camping excursions, islands that can only be accessed by boat or natural preservations are all attractions available in these protected areas as well as outdoor recreational activities and historical sites.

As we mentioned Natural preservation, a part of the Gulf Island National Seashore is the Brackenridge Nature Trail, a place where you can walk around for hours and enjoy the beauty of nature as it was meant to be. One of the trails goes through the Naval Live Oak Preserve where you will find actual oaks growing on the beach. The area is preserved as the oaks were used to build ships but right now they are protected for preservation purposes.

Say hello to the animals

With an abundant amount of natural attractions that can be admired in the wild or at the zoo, this city has you covered. Weigh your courage and take your pick. The great weather allows for plenty of outdoor activities like the Gulf Breeze Zoo where you can gawk at around 1,000 animals that strut, walk, slither, fly or stretch across 50 acres of scenic enclosures. Take the Safari Line train on a tour through the zoo or the boardwalk for a great view of herds of deer and ostrich strutting about.

For a more aquatic experience, check out the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park on Okaloosa Island which is one of the best attractions of this kind in the country. Engaging and educating visitors has been a core focus of the park for over six decades and there are even hands-on experiences that you can share with many of the animals that live within the aquarium.

For the utmost aquatic experience and for those with braver bones in their body you can go above the water with Chase’N’Fins to cruise along with dolphin pods while experienced people share their knowledge of these lovely creatures. There is also the underwater option with Bay Breeze Dive Center for scuba diving and snorkeling if you want to see marine creatures up close.

The party starts after sunset

If you want to party you can stop by Pensacola Beach, a resort community that stretches on the Gulf Coast barrier island of Santa Rosa. There are several options for staying out late while dipping your toes in the water as you enjoy a nice umbrella cocktail with live music in the background, like The Dock for example which stays open till 1AM. Here you can make sure you keep your stomach full throughout your stay while there are plenty of drinks available on the menu for you to be able to enjoy the evening away. For a closer option you can go to The Bridge Bar and Sunset Lounge towards the Pensacola Bay Bridge that’s located on the pier, or in Pensacola Beach there is a Sneaky Tiki Bar that will make you think you’re on a tropical island.

Across the Pensacola Bay Bridge, you have more options available. The Seville Quarter offers a variety of amenities for any visitor and a great night life experience. There are seven themed rooms to dance, dine, have a casual drink or enjoy a game of pool in and it’s right in the middle of the historic district. Palafox Street can also be found nearby if you want to explore art, entertainment, as well as shopping all in one. This street is ranked among the trendiest districts across the country for its great restaurants, theatres and bars. It can be compared to areas from Memphis or New Orleans but it isn’t as crowded as the aforementioned cities.

Conclusion

It isn’t difficult to overlook that you can actually live in this treasure of a small city. Those who wind up visiting are left thinking about the possibilities of relocating there and real estate agents in Gulf Breeze FL can provide you with all the hidden information about the city. It’s a great place to live for retirees with assisted living and families alike with perfectly located schools and great amenities. Don’t let your sights be drawn only to these great attractions as this small town has so much more to offer its visitors and residents alike.
