Air Ambulance Service Chennai

The most common lung problem faced post Covid 19 recovery includes lung fibrosis. The initial lung damage caused further leads to scaring of lungs. The inflammation stage gives way to  the fibrosis stage

This condition requires oxygenation .When a patient is not able to cope up with Non Invasive ventilation or ventilator support a life saving method of lung transplant is considered. Since Lung transplant facility is available only in a few cities in India  and the patient needs to be kept on life support till  a Donor is matched  Ecmo is initiated.

ExtraCORPOREAL membrane oxygenation support  (ECMO)

Ecmo  support can help in treating patients whose lungs are affected due to Covid 19

Role of Air Ambulance in India in Transfer of Ecmo Patients :

Aerocare Air Ambulance Service provides  service of a skilled medical team comprising of Cardiothoracic Surgeon Anaesthetist  perfusionist  who visit the referring hospital  and initiate  Ecmo .Then patient is  transferred by a road ambulance  and transferred to  the Air Ambulance and is brought to  the city where patient has acess  to lung transplant programme
