Organizations’ interest in solar energy is increasing rapidly in India. There has been quite an increase in India’s solar generation capacity in the last 5 years.  States like Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu have seen large scale projects like Bhadla Solar Park with capacity of 2250 MW, and Ultra Mega Solar Park in Andhra with capacity of 1000 MW.

Mahindra Susten – a renewable energy company in India -- finished a solar plant project of 35 MWp capacity in Boudh, Orissa for Aditya Birla Renewables Limited within a period of 3 months.

The project was inaugurated by Orisssa’s Honorable Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik in the presence of Sri Ravi Khanna, MD of Aditya Birla Renewables Limited.

This project was Mahindra Susten’s first Seasonal Title type solar plant. The plant is split between two plots 6 kms apart. They are joined by an overhead cable. The project was completed with 100% capacity ready before commissioning and involved 200,000 safe man-hours with no injuries.

Mahindra Susten has a reputation of delivering on time innovative results and carrying out some excellent CSR activities around their projects.

Here, Mahindra Susten conducted CSR activities to empower the region. 150 school bags were distributed to local students. 160 trees were planted on site or at the neighboring village. A cricket match was organised with locals and prizes were distributed. Finally, an awareness program was conducted for Road Safety Awareness Week.

Mahindra Susten’s team worked tirelessly to finish the project successfully on time while maintaining a spotless safety record.

More solar pv plants should be installed across the country as it is the clean form of energy, plus it provides employment to people of the village. This helps them stay at home with their families and earn a decent amount to live a good life.
