The best time to visit Ranthambore is considered from November to April, although the entire Safari zones of Ranthambore National Park are open for tourists from October 1 to June 30. History of the Ranthambore National Park

History of the Ranthambore is quite old. Ranthambore name has been taken from its old fort which is believed to be almost a thousand years old. It is widely believed that the fort of Ranthambore was built in 944 CE under the rule of the Sapaldaksha. In SawaiMadhopur district of Rajasthan, Ranthambore was established in 1955 as the SawaiMadhopur Game Sanctuary by the Government of India. After this, in 1973, Ranthambore was declared one of the Project Tiger Reserve in India. In 1980, Ranthambore was declared the National Park of India. In 1984, forest area near the Ranthambore were developed and declared as the Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary and the Keladevi Sanctuary.

Ranthambore is recognized not only in India but also in the world for the glory of its tigers. Tigers can be easily seen during the day's safari in Ranthambore.
