Autism is a brain disorder which mainly affects communication, cognition and social skills in children. So prevalent is this disorder that, currently 1 in 68 people are associated with autism in some form or another. This increased prevalence and also increased awareness has resulted in the formation of various support organizations and autism centres’ worldwide. These institutions are striving hard to search for the cures for autism and to answer the question in all parents' minds - is there a cure for autism yet?

Worldwide, there are thousands of organizations which provide support to families with autistic children. These are groups that provide consultation, therapy sessions, and information about autism to all worried and concerned parents. Sometimes, worried parents are sceptical of quite many things initially, like what therapies are essential, what stage is their child in, how long will it take for the child to show normal symptoms, is there a cure for autism, will my child be able to attend mainstream school, will we be accepted by everyone around, etc. and many such questions.

The presence of these organizations in the country where these families reside is a great resource for them and other families with autistic children. Because of increased awareness in today's age, autism is being recognized and organizations like these are set up as support groups, and as a group, this can help families cope better with the situation. Moreover, some autism centers provide education and therapies, and do fundraising for autism research which may one day result  in finding the right cures for autism.

Some famous organizations worldwide are – Autism Society of America, Autism Speaks, Cure Autism Now, SafeSoundFamily, The National Autistic Society, and Dubai Autism Center etc. Autism Speaks is the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization, which is dedicated to funding research into causes, prevention, treatments and cures for autism. The Autism Society of America strives to increase awareness about issues faced by people affected by autism, providing the right services for autistic individuals, and publishing the latest updated information about treatment, education and research.

The availability of support groups in the area where autistic individuals reside will give them all the determination they need to move ahead. This can help give the families enough will power to make strong firm decisions about their childs therapeutic and other support and not fear the consequences. This confidence is very essential for the families as skepticism is of not much help in the long run. Surety of the road you are on and the presence of support groups as back-up, is more than enough for every individual to hope for positive responses to the question – is there a cure for autism.

The organization National Autism Association has a mission to respond to all emergencies in the autism community, providing real assistance and hope. They, like others, provide breaking news about autism, information and resources, a library and support services for families with an autistic member. This organization is worth a mention because of all these functions they perform. They also strive to understand all the emotions that can effect parents at this difficult time and provide all the positivity there is in finding cures for autism.

Organizations provide much needed support to families with autistic children and a lot of much needed hope to help answer the question - is there a cure for autism and what could be the various cures for autism.
