British Columbia Investment Immigration Program

This program has been designed to help immigrants willing to operate a business in British Columbia relocate to the province. British Columbia Investor Program is part of BCPNP. This program is for all those who intend to start a business in BC or are willing to invest in a running business in British Columbia. Such an investor should have enough business experience and should have the right knowledge. The investment should ensure that there is –

1. Enough stimulation for economic growth
2. Creation of jobs for locals living in the province

The applicant should –

1. Intend to live in British Columbia
2. Own at least 33.33% of the shares in the business
3. Participate in the everyday activity of the business

The applicant should prove their economic viability for this program. That is, the investor should be ready to invest a minimum of CAD 0,000. The applicant should present a business plan showing the future road map of the business along with the growth plan.

The only other way to relocate to British Columbia is to participate in the skilled immigration through British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.

The applicant will need to submit their online registration after they have thoroughly evaluated their stand point. The investor should receive an Invitation to apply after the pre-application has been cleared. Once the investor has received their ITA, they need to submit their application in 4 months’ time along with the required documents and the business plan.

There will be a thorough assessment conducted for the program followed by in-person interview of the applicant.

The investor should have made the mandatory visit to the province to research about the business and the location of the business.

The investor will have to sign a Business Performance agreement with the government of British Columbia post which the applicant will receive a certificate of confirmation from British Columbia for the Entrepreneur program. With this certificate, the applicant can obtain work permit with the IRCC. This work permit will be provided for a period of 18 months, during which time, the applicant should set up their business and get it running.

The immigrant will then produce a report of the progress. Once the Canada immigrations are satisfied with the report, they will issue another ITA for the investor to apply for Canada Permanent Residency.
