Showik Chakraborty granted clean chit in drugs case | Bollywood actress Riya Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty have been facing charges of drug purchase and they saw light after the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea and Showik Chakraborty revealed that they never consumed drugs and they bought them for the late actor. The duo has been kept behind the bars for a long time and their bail petitions were rejected several times. Showik Chakraborty now got a clean chit in the drugs case. The court told that the charge of financing illicit trafficking or trading of drugs will not apply to him.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) claimed that Showik Chakraborty was involved with the drug dealers and was into drug trafficking. The Special NCB Court said that Showik Chakraborty would not be considered in the role of drug trafficking. Rhea was granted bail on similar grounds. The court also reminded that no drugs were recovered from Showik Chakraborty. The court also said that Showik Chakraborty is a student and his background was clear.
