Ways to Improve your presentation skills

To develop your presentation skills for better public speaking, there are three variables you must remember.
The starting point in the art of public speaking is choosing a topic that you care about. It is to think about the subjects that have had an extraordinary influence on you, the subjects you would like to share with others because you feel strongly that your experience would improve others. With this, you need to launch a springboard into your first public discussion.

•    Plan ahead
To prepare for a talk, the first thing to do is write out an objective statement of what you intend to accomplish because of your presentation. If it is a 10-minute presentation or a 10-hour presentation, your objective's declaration is the same.

You need to know the answer to the question, "Who is my audience, and what influence do I want to have on them when I speak?"

So, you must think, "As a result of the things I say to them, what action do I want this audience to take?" Write out this action statement of your target very clearly. Then write down everything you think you can say, one point after another, to this audience, to make them take this step. Remember, the reason for public speaking is not necessarily teaching or sharing information. Taking the help of a celebrity coach helps you to plan.

•    Work on your presentation skills
If the first two useful public speaking elements are caring and planning, the third part is practicing and learning presentation skills. Record the conversation from start to finish if you have a tape recorder or, even better, a video camera. Then listen to it or watch it and make notes about how you can make it better.

If you are using a video camera, look at the camera, and use the same facial expressions and body gestures to talk to someone directly. When you act like a critique on yourself, be very hard. Know that the more honest and realistic you are in how you approach people, the easier you will develop strong communication skills. It is always best to go for media training for executives for this.

Training helps, and practice makes it much better. You will discover that if you practice regularly, your presentation skills have greatly improved over time. Know that the ability to communicate effectively in front of individuals can do more than any other ability you can build to advance your career and life.
