Our tour to the Hemis Monastery was one we cherished the most. The monastery holds a grand Hemis festival during the month of September which is attended by people from across the globe. It gives a sneak into the folk tales of the place as well as dances that reflect the stories. Besides, the other monasteries to visit during your Ladakh tour include Spituk and Thiksey monasteries also known for their alluring festivals.

Chadar River Trek

The trek indeed tests your physical prowess along with offering mesmerizing views of nature. The Zanskar Valley trek is popularly known as Chadar Trek, as the river is covered by a sheet of ice during the winter months when the temperature falls down below 0 degrees. This makes it possible for one to walk over the river while watching the growing plants and fishes below your feet while walking over the frozen river.
