Recovery from Trauma – Thoughts from Life Resolutions’ Mary Magalotti

Posted by Life Resolutions on June 9th, 2021

Trauma occurs when our brains struggle to effectively process and recover from stressful, painful, or distressing events and circumstances. Although almost everyone will experience a traumatic event throughout the course of their lifetime, reactions and responses differ dramatically from person to person, even amongst those who have experienced similar events.

If you are struggling with trauma, Mary Magalotti wants you to know that you are not alone, and support is available. She also assures you that however you feel is normal, and natural. There’s also no time limit on trauma – events that happened long ago have the potential to continue to affect individuals much later in life.

Although trauma can be incredibly challenging to deal with, there are techniques and strategies you can use to help you heal and recover. The aim is never to forget the traumatic event, but simply to help you move forward in a way that works for you.
