Hampta Pass Trek in December

Hampta Pass Trek in December. The greenery with the right amount of snow on the trails that become a hindrance in the winter season when there is slippery snow throughout is what makes the mid-June trek in the Hampta Pass so special. It has primarily to do with the valley\'s terrain. Most winter treks in India are open, but the Hampta Pass is a trip that begins in a narrow valley and continues to be narrow throughout the trek. The valley\'s constriction and narrowness increase the amount of snow that accumulates there. In December, the valley\'s trails are too steep and sharp to trek, making it dangerous and risky to do so.

In mid-June, there will be a few patches of snow in the green meadows– they are common and can be found almost throughout the trek. In a nutshell, the best time to trek the Hampta Pass is from mid-June to mid-October if you want to see both snowfall and green meadows. After the mid-June trek fever subsides in July, the snow melts and the valley transforms into a green paradise.
